How do you remove the belt pulleys and the mower clutch on a John Deere lawn tractor?

I have a John Deere GX 255 lawn tractor with the Kawasaki 20 hp twin cylinder. I need to replace the piston rings. I assume I need to remove the engine to do this, but I am having a heck of a time removing the belt pulleys and mower belt clutch from the engine shaft! I removed the bottom pulley with a puller, but I don’t know if the clutch assembly is removed in the same manner. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
