Everyone who bids higher than me on ebay has stars in their name?
Everytime I bid...the second later I get outbid. I check the bid history and all the names that have bid have stars in there screename. Are these automatic bidders?

- Because the people use ebay more often, and also, you can set you top amount you want to spend. So i could put 20 dollers in for my highst amount.. but it only shows it at 5$. but wen u put in 6$. it goes up to 7$. i think thats ur problem, just learn to use ebay a little more and good luck.
- They have higher maximum bids than you do. The "stars" in their names are to hide their identities, which ebay now does with all bidders.
- You're supposed to put the highest you'd be willing to pay. The amount you enter doesn't mean that you'll actually pay that much but say you big $20 on a $2 item, it'll show as $2 first. And then I find the ebay listing and see the $2 item and bid only $5. I'm automatically outbid by your previous bid, but the price will go to $5. So then I bid $8, and again I'm outbid, price goes to $8. Then I bid $52 and the price will go to $20 and I'm the highest bidder now. Now you'll have a chance to bid again if you like, but you won't know how much I bid so if you say $21, I'm still winning. If you say $40, the price will go up to $40 but I'm still winning. If you say $100, you're winning but the price will go to $52. That's how it works :)
