How do I get my money back regarding an eBay auction gone bad?

I paid for an item on eBay using a MoneyGram money order. The seller cashed it almost as soon as she received it, but never sent the item and never answered my phone calls or emails. I opened up a case for the Trust and Safety team, but she never responded to it. It is now a closed case, and she is no longer a registered user. My question now is... will eBay hunt down my money, or will I have to sue the seller to get my money back?

1. Ebay will do nothing. They specifically banned the use of checks and money orders because of this problem. You could contact the local police in her area. Also, report her to USPS for mail fraud here: http://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/forms/MailFraudComplaint.aspx
2. Unfortunately, your money is gone. Your only option is to sue her. I've seen ton of cases like this on Judge Judy. NEVER EVER PAY WITH ANYTHING BUT PAYPAL!
