1. John Deere tractor manuals are avialable at lowes and home depot.You can check the website www.johndeere.com.
2. Not positive about the JD but on most lawn tractors there is no adjustment. There is a tensioning pully that keeps the belt tight. When it no longer can keep the belt tight you replace the belt.
