How do you know if someone is using bots or something to jack up the bidding on e-bay and what can you do?
It looks like a few items I'm bidding on are being bid on by computers or something of that nature. Their names are t**t and l**l stuff like that. But there's five or six different ones like that on each item. It just seems fishy to me.

- eBay no longer shows bidders' full IDs, instead showing the IDs' first and last letters and representing omitted letters with asterisks. There is no way to know if a bid was placed "live" or by a bot.
- have run into the user t88t on many occasions . mine were low bid to stsrt items concerning golf , and lacrosse jerseys and sports mem . never wins a item . but seems to bid on hard to unlosd used golf stuff . also on jerseys he starts the 99 cent bid at 25 dollars . another person wins with stars . it then shows up in another store in the same state arizona . it does make sense that he may be paid to start bids on items that would go for 5 dollars , other person wins item , other store places same item up for sale . are they paid by company for this ? you have raised a very good question . e bay has no buyer protection , they make there money from sales . have been ripped off , cancelled account after none delivery us to canada . e bay was sent prove of purchase to reclaim money . defende dishonest seller . now use wifes account for small purchases . look at items in states , not burned yet , but stay away from stores . you have raised a valid point . welll done .
