How much is this shotgun worth? Need a quick reply please..?
From what I've read so far, I really like the MossbergĀ® 500 J.I.C. Mariner with pistol grip - but only the Mariner style. It appears the "kit" may be overkill, so I would like to maybe save a few bucks and find this item as a stand alone. I went to this site called Gunbroker.com and found one there that looks really nice and it has a heat shield and the pistol grip addition I want. The thing is, I need some opinions on how much this thing is worth, or what you would pay for it? As you can see from the link I've provided, it is being sold at an auction site with the starting bid of $0.01 and a buy-it-now price of $600 and change (plus $33 for shipping). From my price research I definately feel the buy-it-now price is too high, but I have no clue as to what exactly would be a good price for this item? That is my bid you see at the auction. So, is this a poor, good, great, or excellent shotgun and what would you pay to have it in your hands? Thank you in advance. :) Here's the link - the photos (4 of them) are at the bottom of the listing. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=119798526

- msrp on the jic in the stainless is $547 and I have found that the mossbergs that I have bought are about a hundred less than msrp and you can order it online go to mossberg.com click on specifications then order now and you will see what you will really be paying for it near you http://www.mossberg.com/products/default.asp?id=28&display=specs
- Yes, that price is WAY out of line. I would consider it a good shotgun, not really great of excellent. It's definitely cheaper than the comparable Remington 870 model at the link below. http://www.remington.com/products/firearms/shotguns/model_870/model_870_marine_magnum.asp Check these other websites before considering paying that much. http://www.gunsamerica.com/924945719/Guns/Shotguns/Mossberg-Shotguns/Pump/Tactical/590_Mariner.htm http://www.gunsamerica.com/969725840/Guns/Shotguns/Mossberg-Shotguns/Pump/Tactical/Mossberg_JIC_Mariner_500_Just_in_Case.htm http://www.ableammo.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=98866 http://www.ableammo.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=84688
- $600????? This guy is crazy --- What a rip-off.... A regular Mossberg 500 Cruiser shotgun in my area are available at the big box sporting goods stores for $299...... This one.. $299 before taxes.... http://www.mossberg.com/images/Mossberg_Guns/930/NEW/50411.jpg and also this is $299...... http://www.mossberg.com/images/Mossberg_Guns/930/NEW/50440.jpg and this 8 shot is also $299..... http://www.mossberg.com/images/Mossberg_Guns/930/NEW/50577.jpg Most sporting goods stores (with gun counters) are Mossberg dealers..... This should not be a problem to get one.... I will point out my local dealers have been low in having these in stock. There is a fear of an assault weapons bad which has dried up AR15 rifles and it seems to have trickled down to these police / security type shotguns... My local dealers tell me folks have been grabbing these up as a second best item to own since the AR15 AK type rifles have sold out everywhere..... Anyways they should not be difficult to find..... Mossberg 500? Good shotgun?..... Anyone that regularly see's my answers here knows that I think the Mossberg 500 hands down is the best pump shotgun on the planet for home defense and security work..... Forget the Remington 870 or others --- Here's why.... http://members.tripod.com/~jth8260/870.html I own Remington 870 shotguns and think they are great for ducks and deer and thats about it.... If a situation arises where the poop hits the fan then the only firearm I trust with my life with is a Mossberg 500 or 590.... Heres whats at my house.... http://www.mossberg.com/images/Mossberg_Guns/930/NEW/50645.jpg http://www.mossberg.com/images/Mossberg_Guns/930/NEW/50577.jpg Mossberg shotguns in Iraq..... http://gunsandammomag.com/cs/Satellite/IMO_GA/Story_C/The+Magnificent+Mossberg
- Yes this gun is very high priced and if it is not new in the box when you get it it is a ripoff. See mdl 50278 on the website listed here. http://www.mossberg.com/products/default.asp?id=5&display=specs
- Excellent answers so far, but I do want to comment on the high Buy-it-Now price. Some gun dealers just inflate the price like that as part of negotiating strategy, hoping someone will come along and maybe pay it, or that someone will offer $500, etc. They are not in a hurry to sell obviously. If you use the search engine, you will find the dealer listed the gun over and over. When using the gun auction sites to gauge market value, only look at true auctions where the price was started low and bidders moved the price up. That is a true market value. The Mossberg 500 is a very good shotgun and the Mariner option is great for low maintence of the metal finish or for use in caustic environs. Just about any well-stocked sporting goods or gun store will have stocks and pistol grips for the Moss 500, so find a good deal on the gun even if you would need to change the stock or grips. Also, I see Maverick, the budget version of the Mossberg, also makes a Mariner model...
- This is a great shotgun but the price is WAY out of line. A standard mariner model 500 lists for : NIB=$350.00 EXC= $300.00 VG=$225.00 A new in the box mariner 590 lists for $425.00 I watch for sales and bought a 500 mariner with heat shield and both pistol grip and standard buttstock for $299.95 at big 5 sporting goods. shoot safe
- He's asking almost $100 over MSRP most gun shops sell 10 to 20% below MSRP for a new gun That gun should be down around $450 from what I have seen But there are a lot of idiots out there that can not be bothered to research and see just what is going to be banned by the coming AWB and a lot of people who are preying on that fear Pass on that and let some sucker buy it Pick it up from him for about $200 less when the panic dies down and these idiots need to pay their lot rent Or better yet invest your money in hi cap magazines and trade them off for shotguns later at a three to one return on your investment
