- befor the auctione andbnjn!
- a couple of hours prior to the end of auction, if you can still afford it by then, you will also get to see how far other people are willing to go for the dress.
- It is always best to make sure that you have a definit amount that you are willing to pay for the item. Think about what the max amount is that you are willing to pay for that and then place the bid about 30 seconds before the auction is over so that then no one is able to out bid you and if the high bid is already above you then you weren't willing to spend that much money in the first place and it just shows that it wasn't worth it to you.
- I never bid until the last 20-30 seconds. Put it on your watch list and remember to check it regularly.
- As soon as you can. Firstly you can't 'drive the bid up' as it only goes up to either as much as the other person said they were willing to pay, or your top bid, whichever is lower. Secondly you may find that most people only bit on items in the last hour, so if the bid is higher than 99c (or a major bargain) before it gets to that time you are likely to have less competition. If you know it is exactly what you want bid early, but be around at the last minue to adjust you bid if you feel the need.
- If you really want the item, go to Auctionsniper.com and sign up for a snipe account. You enter your top dollar and when you want them to bid for you. I usually go for 7 seconds before it ends. Works most of the time unless the price goes beyond my top dollar. I win tons of stuff in the middle of the night like this.
- Bid as late in the aucution as possible. And bid your TRUE max plus a few cents for tie breakers. If you are outbid, then the other person was willing to pay more. Never sit there an re-bid higher and higher in the heat of the moment. You will end up paying more than you want to. When dealing with power seller's with a store, or those who make their own items, you can get a better deal sometimes by contacting them AFTER the auction closes.
