How to change blinker bulbs in '89 dodge spirit?

I've got an 89 dodge spirit used just the other days and the blinker lights come on but don't blink. From what I've read they need new bulbs so I went ahead and got all 4 new bulbs. Discount Auto Parts said my model were 3057s. I just have no clue how to go about changing them. In the trunk the only thing I can see are two big wires going into the back lights but I can't seem to pull or pry them out and in the front all I can see and pull out are things that look just like plugs going into outlets. *edit: The lights don't come on on the outside, but on the inside where it shows the arrows they light up but don't flash. I can look inside the front left blinker and can see that there is no bulb inside period. However the right blinkers worked a few times but have stoped and show the same problem as the left ones.
