How long does it take for ebay to recognize shill bidding through same IP address?

If you use two accounts on the same computer, same day to bid on your own thing to sell, how long do you think eBay would take to recognize this? Is it something a person do, or a software. I'm just asking. Just don't preach about "be honest yada yada" because I don't sell stuff on eBay :) Thanks. They knew it and won't do anything? Wow.. and I heard a lot of ppl couldn't even sign in with those uses the same IP add!

  1. IF YOU DO IT MORE THEN 2 TIMES THEY WILL NOTICE AND CLOSE THE ACCOUNT OF THE BIDDER NOT THE SELLER
  2. Oh ebay won't do anything about it because that drives the price of things up. The more the item sells for the more money ebay makes. This has been going on since the beggining and they won't do anything to stop it.
  3. It used to be if someone recognized multiples ids, bidding on the same seller's stuff and if someone reported it, then ebay would take action. Now, since the user ids are hidden, it's very hard to combat this and ebay will not do anything about it, becuase it means more money for them and their bottom line in the grand scheme of things.
  4. Shill bidding will result in the suspension of a sellers account. Generally it takes quite a long time for eBay to catch on though. Once they do though your account will be suspended for at least a week and if you get caught doing it again they will most likely revoke your account. www.thedan.us
