realty bidding online?

there is a property we are looking at and just found out that it is being auctioned off online..and only if they dont sell it online then they will take bids the "old fashioned" way... what are the pros and cons of online bidding.. is this a better way for me to go about buying this property..the starting bid is way less then what we were going to bid on it.. we do have a realtor already can she bid on it for us or no.. help yes i have been to the house we were already going to put in an offer and that day they put it in auction but thanks for the concern i know that would be awefully stupid of us to do..

1. Sarah, please reassure me that you aren't seriously considering bidding for a house you have never step a foot in? Please tell me that you have actually driven to this property and walked through it. Please tell me because I can't think of anything more painful than buying something sight unseen and finding out the pictures they provided were just a scam!
