Computer trouble: can't sign up, order, pay etc. online. Can anyone help?

I seem to be having trouble with my computer at the moment and am finding it hard to do various things. I have had this sort of trouble for about 6-8 months now and it has slowly been getting worse. I am not sure but wether this is the reason or not but it seemed to start getting worse around the time we changed our internet server to BT yahoo. Whenever I try to do things such as sign up to new websites that require personal details, pay online, bid on auction sites, view certian videos or websites or even try and change my internet server, it always says the same thing: this page cannot be displayed. I have tried things such as deleted stuff off my drive but othing works. I don't know wether this is linked but I can't get onto MSN messenger either, nor can I download games that I have bought to my computer either. Does anyone have any solutions, I would be very grateful. Thanks a lot.
