Where Should I Go For Antique Appraisals?

Hi, I live in San Antonio, TX. I have a antique Chinese porcelain at home that I would like it to be appraised, but I do not know where to go. Should I go to a local antique store to get appraisals or are they not to be trusted? Where should I go? I am afraid I would get ripped off by one of them.

1. Check with your local Chamber of Commerce. They have lists of their members and might be able to give you a good lead. Chambers of Commerce are often overlooked, but provide valuable resources for their communities.
2. You can out-smart the dealer by telling him that you want to have him sell them for you (on consignment) and ask him what he thinks he can get for them.
