What can I use to clean the seat belts and areas around the headliner of my older car?
The car is 20 years old. The seat and shoulder belts are dingy (the interior is off white). Also, the areas around the headliner (just above the windows) are a bit dingy. Can you suggest a cleaner? a process to follow? Thanks!

- "Resolve Carpet Cleaner" works pretty good on upholstery
- Try a little rubbing alcohol mixed with two drops of dish soap and warm water in a spray bottle. Never scrub the seat belts or the headliner as this will destroy the integrity of the fabric. Never ever dye the belts either, or use any bleach or other harsh chemicals. Replacement belts are expensive, so clean carefully. You might be able to dye the headliner.
- carpet shampoo that you get at the auto store in the aerosol can and a good stiff bristled brush.
