- Callaway, Taylormade, Nike, or Titleist. The best way to do this would be to surprise him with the idea, and take him to get fit for the clubs. If you just buy them there is a 99% chance that he will not be able to use them right off of the shelf. He will need specific shafts, models, and Lie angle's to truly accomplish a perfect fit. Bring him in and havfe your daddio test his swing speed, arm length, height, and lie angles. It will impress your B/F that you are that interested in getting him not just clubs, but a set that will improve his game.
- Callaway, Taylor Made, Titleist, Nike, Ping to name a few. There is a lot of personalized taste to brand of club, types of club and are pretty expensive despite a "great discount". For example, a driver comes in different lofts (8,9 ,10 degrees) and different flex shafts (reg or stiff or xstiff). Perhaps it may be best if you either ask him specifically what kind of club he wants, take him down to the shop for him to pick or get something else. Good luck
- The other guys did a pretty good job of naming the best brands but dont forget mizunno. Mizunno irons are consistently ranked as some of the best on the market.
- definitely Titleist in almost all categories of golf clubs. For example putters, wedges, irons, etc.
- Drop some hints and see what he really likes. When I worked at a golf course a while back I got to see all the high end stuff and there's quite a difference in price and feel of the clubs. For woods, I like Callaway. Irons are more about feel; but I like my old top flite's. And Ping makes great putters. Off topic; I do have a few real good clubs for sale?
- Personally, I like the Natural Golf brand of clubs, which you can see on their website. The shafts are all frequency matched and balanced, which helps all the clubs to swing the same way. The key word above, however, is "Personally". I suggest having your b/f go to a really good golf store that has swing bays and putting greens, so he can swing a variety of clubs to see what feels right for him. If your boyfriend would like to talk about golf, ask him to visit my Golf Talk blog shown below. Good Luck.
- TITLEIST
- The best Iron's wedges putters and golf balls are titliest. Best drivers Taylormade, Best woods nike, Best hybrid BOBBY JONES (not a big name but forgiving and have the widest variety of shots)
- Nike irons are good, but all major brand is just about same..test out and find what you like. I like adams because they are cheap and feels good.
- Mizuno and Titleist Irons are the very good....Visit the Golf Digest for top rated clubs. They have excellent reviews on most of the top brands.
- taylormade
- The absolute best brand....without a doubt....are the ones he can hit the best. Have him try them and see which ones he likes best.
- callaway, nike, taylor made
- Golf clubs are a very personal thing. Get him a gift certificate and let him go pick out what he wants and what works best for him.
- I think Nike would be a good fit. They are durable yet affordable.
- Your dad can pick them out if works at the golf course
