how to sell used men's clothing?

I have a huge pile of old shirts and sweaters I bought for mostly $10 - $30 each. (There a maybe 30 of them total.) I want to get rid of them without putting in much effort, but I'd prefer to get some money out of the deal. What's the best way to do this? Are there consignment stores, ebay auction dropoffs, or used clothing stores that will normally accept these sorts of clothes? Should I just give up and give it all to goodwill?

  1. Unless you desperatly need the money, wouldn't your conscience let you sleep better at night if you donated them to a charity that can use them alot more than you can
  2. If you are too lazy to list it yourself on ebay, I would give them to good will. If they are XXL or larger give me a hollar, i might buy them :P
  3. 2 words yard sale
  4. Consignment shops abound...or check hospital auxiliarys, or good will. I know of a good will store that does a really good business...sometimes you can find really decent stuff!
  5. Just sell them on ebay....
  6. I think you would be better off just donating them, most people don't go looking for used clothes and the amount of money you would get out of them probably would not be worth the effort. Also you can get a warm fuzzy feeling and most drop off sites offer a recipt so that you can declair a donation on your taxes (or somthing...)
  7. yes the consignment stores are the best way, they will place your garments for sale? at a reasonable price,.the yellow pages has the store listed than, the rest is up too you!
  8. Check with eBay or a consignment store
  9. Wash them first of course. Your ideas are excellent, minus Goodwill. Good luck!
