Does this sound and look like a good gun to you?

http://gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=114256074 I'm 14 and my parents are letting me get a .22 rifle so I'm looking at some and this one really stands out to me. I like but I would like some expert advice. Thank you.

  1. well heres the thing your ganna have to pay over 150$ for that rifle and then 25$ for the dealer to do the transfer and 25$ for shipping youd be better of going out and buying a new henry .22 for like 220$ (what i payed for mine 2 years ago probly around 250$ now). but yes that would be a good gun i never new daisy made a real gun im interested in it.
  2. Daisy makes good BB guns, but I don't know about real ones... I personally recommend a Ruger 10/22. It is a fine gun that has a ton of after market parts if you ever want to change out a barrel or something.
  3. GREAT,, I DIDNT LOOK AT THE LINK HOWEVER,, A GOOD ONE USED IS A MARLIN SEMI AUTO AND PLENTY OF SHELLS HAVE FUN,, be careful to make sure the tube and chamber are totally empty ok,, before you point it at any thing,, unless dads there with you ok tu eddie model 60 i would get oops??
  4. Daisy briefly ventured into firearms manufacturing in 1988 with the Legacy model bolt action rifles. Three different models were made. A single shot, a 7 round box magazine model and a 10 shot rotary magazine model. They turned out to be a flop for the company and were dropped from production the next year. (Poor quality) Don't waste your money on this rifle as parts to repair it and spare magazines are impossible to find. And surprisingly, has very little collector value or interest even though very few were manufactured. You are FAR better off buying yourself a Ruger 10/22 rifle. It is the most popular .22 rifle ever produced. Good luck and good shooting -
  5. THE GUNS PRETTY NICE I WOULD SAY BUY IT
  6. For what you would pay for that in the end, you would be much much better served getting a brand new, in warranty, Ruger 10/22 or Remington 597.
  7. this gun was made between 1988 & 1991 and sold new between $100-150! they were discontinued because of bad quality! better off with a ruger 10/22! a henry or marlin lever action are nice and i like the old west look.
  8. I wouldn't purchase off of GunBroker.com simply because you cannot examine what you are going to purchase. Also, for a little bit more money, you can purchase a Ruger 10/22. Best .22lr rifle on the market, in my and others' opinion. Plus, there are loads of aftermarket accessories for this rifle. The MSRP for this rifle is about $330.00 dollars, but if you look around, one can be had for about a total of $290.00 dollars, tax and background check included. If you still want something cheaper and/or a bolt-action .22lr rifle, I would recommend that you take a look at Savage Arms, or Marlin.
  9. "The gun looks aluminum with a barrel liner." That's gun talk for obvious low quality There are many better guns out there for that price that are in current production with parts availability
  10. "Mark" hit this one on the head with a 12lb hammer. You would be far better off buying a new Ruger 10/22 or Marlin Model 60.
  11. why are you ordering on line don't you have a local sporting goods store where you can go and handle it in person and get the feel for it also if something goes wrong you can always take it back to the store, with what you want to pay on that link you can get a better quality .22. the only thing that comes to mind is that your parents are not really happy about you getting one and you are going off on the sneak online, because if you go by yourself to a sporting goods store they won't even let you handle one without an adult being present.
  12. you can get one from the store, brand new for the same price no, that gun looks cheap if you ask me...or at least over priced. if your going to get a .22 (and i think you should) just get one from the store.
