The dye from my black leather belt keeps bleeding into my pants. Any suggestions?
I bought this black leather belt and now the dye rubs off into my pants when I put in through the belt loops. Is there any way I can wash or treat this belt so I dont ruin anymore pants?

- You need to return that belt to the store where you bought it. That is an unacceptable manufacturing defect. Excess dye in washable fabric clothing can often be removed by repeated washings, but you should not wash a leather belt unless it was sold with a care label claiming that it was made of washable leather You might be able to save your "ruined" pants by washing them in hot water. If not, the store that sold you the belt may be responsible for the cost of the ruined clothing.
- Some leather dyes can be quite unstable and this is quite common in belts. You can buy a finish to put on the leather which will stop this 'crocking' effect. Try Satin Gloss from this company http://www.lttleathercare.co.uk/product.asp?product=40
