about ebay automatic bidding?

so the price of a camera for auction is 30.00 dollars. there's this automatic bidder that is always bidding automatically higher than me. i read on the ebay site that i have to put my max higher than the other persons. so if i put a higher price and suceed in outcompeting the other person, will my bid keep automatically bidding?? i hope that made sense.

1. Yes, if you put in a maximum bid, and it is higher than the other person's, you will be the winning bidder until some one outbids you or you win. It won't keep bidding up to your maximum unless someone bids against you.
