How much lower can you Bid on a new construction home?
We found a perfect brand new home, how much less should I bid on it? What is an average? 5% or more less then the listed price? What else can be asked for besides blinds included in the bid? Thanks in advance for your help in making my dream a reality.

- You can bid what you want, but they don't have to take it. I would assume, in this market, that builders would have their homes listed at rock bottom prices, and can't afford to go lower. But your best bet, by far, is the advice of a knowledgeable real estate agent.
- You can bid anything you want and wait for a counter bid. Depending on how desperate the builder is, he might accept 10%, 20% or maybe more. You can include all kinds of things: closing costs, landscaping, upgraded appliances, etc.
- Generally if the builder is still actively building houses in that subdivision, they are much less likely to waiver on the price, but they include a lot of upgrades into the listed price. The reason they will not likely accept a lower price is because they still have to sell homes in that subdivision, if a particular home model had an accept price of 30K off their listed price, how are they ever going to get their listed price again for that model? Simply they won't. What upgrades a previous buyer got through their deal cannot be seen by other potential buyers. The one thing that potential buyers can see if the agreed upon selling price. So, in short, not likely to go much lower if at all.
