Where can I buy discounted or inexpensive baby furniture?

I want to buy furniture for the baby's nursery but I can't believe it's like $300 for a dresser! Any good web-sites selling nice discounted furniture? I want a natural finish.

  1. You could try Craig's List or even Ebay.
  2. creigslists...greensheets...penny saver...thrift store
  3. Craigslist is a good one in my area. You can always go see the furniture and you dont have to buy it if you dont want to. Another fairly inexpensive place is Ikea if you have one near you.
  4. I'm not normally a fan of this store but believe it or not I found my nursery furniture at k-mart! I got a beautiful dresser and shelf there for only fifty dollars each. And I got my crib at walmart for only a hundred and twenty dollars. You could also try second hand stores. There are quite a few consignment stores that specialize in babies.
  5. Try the baby barn they sell discounted baby furniture ... http://www.baby-barn.co.uk/
  6. craigslist.com or kijiji.com. You could also look for a second hand kids store
  7. You would be amazed at sets people sell. Look in the classified ads. Also garage and moving sales. And used furniture stores. I do this before buying brand new. I have gotten some beautiful furniture at a third of the cost.
  8. I got the best changing table at walmart of all places....I love it. I would look at their online store and then see if you can have it shipped to the store for free!
  9. ikea.com I love their furniture. We bought our daughter's crib from there. It was around 130.00 dollars. She's almost two now and it is still really sturdy. We'll use it for the rest of our children.
  10. Never under estimate a good thrift store. Look for quality, not not color (you can always refinish or paint it!) Also walmart.com has some cute cribs for less.
  11. Check out craigslist or ebay. There are also local stores that sell used furniture. In my area we have Kid to Kid which is a consignment shop that sells baby and children's supplies. You can check out their website to see if they're in your area. http://www.kidtokid.com/news.php?id=13
  12. Just be careful when buying a second hand crib off of Craigslist or Ebay. Safety requirements have changed through the years, so an older crib may not be as safe. Also, missing hardware can cause even a new crib to be unsafe for your baby. Dressers or changing tables are just fine to buy second hand, but I would buy a new crib. I got our baby's crib at Target for $150. Not too pricey.
  13. Here you go. This site has them http://www.purplepostbox.com/buy/%20baby%20furniture
  14. Craigslist will be a good bet to find local furniture that you can pick up, but please do your homework before buying a crib that is used as there are many potential safety issues with used cribs. Or try garage sales for used dressers that you can get for cheap and then get a new crib in the same tone. If you want new furniture delivered and need a crib, try a site like this http://www.simplybabyfurniture.com/room-sets---collections-light-wood.html where you can select your crib and then choose matching furniture. here is an example of a cool natural set with a convertible crib and changing dresser shipped for $500! http://www.simplybabyfurniture.com/02222739.html Hope this helps!
