How can I set a maximum bidding price on eBay?

So I am trying to sell an item on eBay with a starting price of $19.99. I do not want the final bidding price to go over $25, because I don't really feel like paying the enormous fee if it goes over $25. Is there a way to set a maximum bid price? If you have any questions for me, just email me at riceaustin@gmail.com. Thanks for the help.

  1. Oh, clueless one, the final value fee is a percentage of the total. So if you sell at over $25, even after fees, you still come out ahead. If you want the price to be $25 and have no bidding, list it that way.
  2. buy it now helps
  3. Why would you want to set a ceiling price? If you make more money, sure you pay E-bay a higher fee, but you still receive a higher profit in return. If you do not want it to go over a maximum price however, end the auction, and start a new auction with buy it now (which costs an additional fee).
  4. If you just throw your item in the garbage, you won't have to pay eBay any fees at all. You win!
