Belt Auction

Are too many Championship belts in the WWE hurting the prestige of the belts?

I think between RAW, SMACKDOWN and ECW there's way too many championship belts and it's making the belts loose there prestige. I miss the days of ONE WWE with one world champ and one set of tag champs.. I think TNA's champions hold more water even though there's more competition in the WWE. Your thoughts?

  1. There are ALOT of superstars on the rosters with different ranks, so no but i think they should get rid of the divas title and bring back cruiserweight title or hardcore title
  2. Because of the amount of Superstars that WWE has, I don't think they have too many belts nor does it diminish the prestige of the belt. What does diminish the prestige of the belt though is when you give it to someone just because they sell a lot of merchandise instead of giving it to someone who has actual good wrestling ability. Or also when you put the Heavy Weight Belt on someone who really isn't a heavyweight like WWE did with Rey Mysterio. Don't get me wrong here. Rey's a good wrestler but he clearly isn't a heavy weight.
  3. YOU'RE GOT IT! They have all this titles & none of them really mean sh*t How can you be champion of a show that's just stupid To many title not enough wrestlers good enough to hold them
  4. I agree with you to some extent. What's the ECW title worth these days? What is the Woman's title worth? The US title? I think it's a good idea to spread the titles over the 3 brands, but each brand doesn't need it's own world title. It becomes too confusing to people trying to keep up with which champ belongs where. It makes it worse when they are able to switch between brands (like Edge is doing right now) There should be 1 main world title, held on RAW as this is supposedly the flagship. The US title should be moved to SD, and the Hardcore title should be bought back to ECW, IC title possibly stays on RAW. Cruiserweight to SD (?) Woman's title goes to RAW, Diva title to SD. Tag Titles are the only ones that are able to "roam" between brands. REMEMBER: It ain't the title that makes the man/woman, it's the man/woman that makes the title...
  5. It ain't how many belts their are its the lack of defending them is what losing prestige of the belts. When was the last time Miz and Morrison defended their World Tag belts? When was the last time Shelton Benjerman defended the U.s belt? That in my opinion is what is hurting the belt. TNA's belt seem fine as last week The X division title and World Tag Team title matches were good.
  6. Yes
  7. Prestige? how can you call it prestige when it all comes down to who brings the most butts to the arenas? It does not hurt to be the son of the owner, the owner or related to the owner.
  8. I agree. When was the last time US title was defended or even thought about? Cant remember How many WWE Divas titles changes have happened? 2 Every1 cares about the WWE or World Heavyweight Championships. Ok we also acknowledge the ECW title once in a while. But what happened to the IC or US titles. I think even the WWE writers forgot about it.
  9. I'm not sure if there are too many belts or not, but I do agree that they aren't defended often enough. When's the last time either the WWE or World Heavyweight titles changed hands somewhere that wasn't a ppv and had a reasonably long title reign? WWE needs to take a page out of the old WCW book and start having their champions defend during normal broadcasts once in a while.
