Alternator power steering and air conditioner belts for Maxima?

I have a 2005 Nissan Maxima and while getting it serviced I found out that the above mentioned belts need to be replaced. They cover it under a waranty, but still I was wondering whether it is normal to have these go out so early, my car has less than 27,000 miles... Any sound advice is appreciated!

1. It is not so much the milage but the time. The belts are 3 years old and made out of rubber and cords. The heating and cooling of the rubber over 3 years will cause the rubber to crack, and that is the first sign of failure. Be happy that the dealer spotted it and it is covered
