How can I get a list of local real estate trustee auctions for free?
We are in California. We are looking for a residence and an investment property. Any suggestions or pointers would be appreciated.

- check with each bank. That is the only way. Why do you need them for free if you are seeking investment property--you surely have money for reasonable business expenses.
- I'm not sure about CA, but I know in some states, the trustee sales will be published in a paper with distribution in that city/county, usually some cheap local publication. Find out what that is for your area and buy a copy for cheap (probably less than $1.00). Also, find out what auction companies the trustees usually use in your area and check their websites - they'll often list what auctions they are conducting on their website for FREE. Finally, the local courthouse might also have a list on their website if the auctions are conducted there - again for FREE.
