Is there anywhere where I can search for average house prices in Southern California?

I want to find out when is a good time to buy a new house. Right now, according to Zillow.com, average house prices in most areas have been steadily been going down for the past year or so. Is there a website or some resource where I can find more of this kind of information? I'm willing to wait and hopefully buy when it bottoms out. Any resource or even general real estate advice on this matter is highly appreciated.

  1. Check the web daily, and look at re pro homes.
  2. Just goto Realtor.com and put int he cities or zipcodes you are looking for and you can get exactly what houses are going for.
  3. Hello, I would suggest you get in contact with a real estate agent in the area(s) that you're interested in. Once you explain to them what you like, they can put you on an automated emailing list, so that when new listings come up in those areas, you get an email. This will let you know exactly what is on the market and for what price. It makes it easier than you having to search yourself! And once you see something that you like, you're already in contact with an agent. There are some of the greatest deals out there now, that will come and go before the market "bottoms out" so I would definitely be aware of these. If you need an agent, check out www.keenagents.com. They're a real estate agent referral company, and they hook you up with pre-screened agents for free. It doesn't hurt to check them out. Kyle
