Choosing a real estate broker to work for. Coldwell Banker vs Keller Williams..?

I have heard good things about both of these companies. Let me start by saying I am new to real estate so I want a company that will offer me great training, has name recognition, and is financially fair. I have heard Keller Williams has excellent training. I have also heard they can be overbearing and cult like. I tend to be a bit cynical and don't like being bombarded with corporate culture, so I am bit worried Keller Williams might get under my skin. The bottom line is that I do want the best training though. Can someone with experience in the field please shed some light on my question.

  1. They are both fine choices. After you have been selling for 1 year, the choice will be crystal clear. KW has the best commission split in the industry for beginners. But to offset that advantage, they are a mulit-level-marketing operation where you have pressure to recruit other beginners. CB has been pressured up by KW in the commission splits. They have a good name and well-located offices. Lots of agents stay with them for a long time. But they do lose lots of agents to companies that offer the agents a 100% program where the agent keeps all the commission. So make your personal choice and know that you can't make a huge mistake. Get to work.
