Am I out of order getting a "friend" to bid on my items on that well know online auction. ?
I have listed some GENUINE designer clothes/shoes etc (NOT fake rubbish) and they only have a few Hours left to run, The bidding on these items are only up to a couple of £. I cant be bothered with the aggro and hassle of posting items for a couple of £, I would rather donate them to a charity shop. Back to my question....Am I out of order "shill bidding" my items. People want "stuff" for next to nothing...It is NOT going to happen. Sorry

- Yes and illegal too. Watch your steps
- if it makes you s couple of extra quid why not.
- no, most clever people do it.
- if you do that you might get stung & end up having to buy your own clothes back
- You use an auction site so you should be prepared to lose out on certain items. As the previous answerer said...its illegal .
- Well i must admit i have done it a few times, so i understnad where you are coming from .. And if we are talking about ebay here, i would be extreamly carefull, i know someone who has been banned from ebay and was fined becuase they got caught doing this .. x
- na, i dont agree with that at all, u should have put a reserve or a price on them then, dont list them for that price if u are unwilling to let them go for it, its not fair on people that have bid looking for a bargin, although i feel for you but again think u should have put a higher price if thats what u wanted. y not post the item numbers or your "selling name" up on here then other people will have a look n maybe bid to get ur prices up, i would prob have a look n sure others would x
- why not just put a price minimum on ur products so u don't have to do that
- Very much against the rules. I hope that people have enough sense to know that's what you are doing. It's pretty obvious to most sellers. If you can't be bothered, set your starting price higher. That serves the same purpose and it's not illegal. Or donate your clothing. Someone would appreciate that. People want fair prices for items, since they are paying lots of postage. You might do better to sell to a consignment shop.
- It's risky but if you feel the need to do it then go for it. The only problem is you dont know what the highest bid is. If you go beyond that your "friend" might end up buying your items. I had my mother bid on one of my auctions once. But that was because on my auction I listed (in bold print) that international bidders needed to contact me first before bidding, and that people with 10 or less feedback needed to contact me before bidding. Somebody from china (with 0 feedback) bid on my item. I didn't want that person to win, so she outbid him. Just by a little bit though.
- This is illegal on a lot of auction sites, and very unethical. It's an auction, you only get as ,uch as what people are willing to pay. That's just how it works.
- Why didn't you put a reserve on?
