What is the best way to get the cheapest flight?

I will be traveling to Colorado this summer from Tennessee. My dates are extremely flexible.. just sometime this summer. Would it be best to get my tickets now? or a few days before leaving? Should I go through one of those discount travel websites or through the airline? Thanks!

Best thing to do is compare the prices. See how much a travel website would charge and then go to the airline website. I find airline websites are usually the cheapest. Usually better to book in advance, especially since it will be in summer I'd assume many people would be travelling for various reasons.
im from england and i use ryanair....which has 5pound one way tickets....i dont know if they are available in the usa but might be worth checking it out....google ryanair :D
There are low cost airlines within the US (ie jetblue, southwestern) that service many cities frequently at low costs so that people can fly more frequently to different cities. It eliminates the upper class sections of flights so that more people can fly more frequently. Some of them are also a first come first serve basis; just goes to show how efficient it can be.
go towards the end (most people are setteling down for school/& jobs,ect) buy the tickets a few days in advance & u will get it really cheap !
buy online at least a month in advance. search different ways to get there. different air lines - different departing days , direct flight, 1 stop flight, 2 stop flight, etc..

Summer is usually a more expensive time to fly since a lot of people travel during that time. Go to Southwest Airlines and see how much tickets would be. Do not wait until the last minute to buy your tickets. You should purchase your tickets at least 14 days before your departure date.
If I were you I would go on Southwest.com and look for flights there. In my opinion Southwest is the best airline in the world. I have flown the airline too many times to remember and I have never been delayed. Their flight crew is extremely nice and attentive, and they give you unlimited soft drinks and snacks. At Nashville International airport they have about four nonstop flights a day to Denver at very cheap prices. Just make sure to get to the airport on time as Southwest pushes back from the gate on time every time.
