Belt Auction

I need help with a school project on V-Belts?

I am doing a project in windows movie maker, like a slide show with the topic, "Everything you need to know about V-Belts". This was assigned to my by my teacher who is a dumb bitch, but i won't go into that. Basically I need help figuring out what exactly a v-belt is and where it is in a car. Are they different in different car models? If anyone knows of a good website that would be great too. Thanks.

  1. a V-belt was used mainly in older cars that required multiple belts..they are used to turn the crank, waterpump, alternator, powersteering, and ac pulleys. newer vehicels mainly use a single serpintine belt that spins all of the accesories. V-belts come in all deifferent sizes and lengths for different engine set ups.
  2. a V-belt looks like a V. look at a fan belt. where the belt rides in the pulleys it looks like a V.
