Ebay Shill Bidders, thoughts!??!?
This is just a question to ask if anyone has had experience of this? Its just i have bought several items in the past that i think i may been shill bid up by the seller. I use auction stealer, so i set my maximum bid and wait and see if that is enough. It seems i win a alot of auctions but by my maximum bid I dont think its coincidence any more because i always set random amounts like £26.66 rather than a £25 and its on random items. Is there some sort of way sellers know what my maximum bid is? Has anyone heard of people cheating in this way? Thanks

- They can if you use auction stealer. If you want to win auctions this way, wait until there's 45 seconds to go, then make your bid.
- i think ebay rolls the money up from the last person highest bid (i'm not sure of the amount, but it may vary according to the items price at time of roll-up) so if someone bids £25 and your highest bid is £26.66, and the next "minum raise in price" for an outside bidder is say £3 then because your highest bid is below £3 more and you are already taking part in the bidding, your lesser amount is allowed, that might be babble....:/
- unfortunately it goes on all the time especially more so I would think with random items. The people I used to work with used to do it for each other, it makes me so angry, it ruins the experience for other people. I don't put in such a high maximum bid, I just leave it and if I'm outbid then so be it. you could leave it to the last minute like a lot of people do.
