I want a take a course in Real Estate?
Prudential Real Estate is offering a FREE session on how to become a Real Estate agent. I have an Associate Degree in Marketing and Management..should I even bother with real estate with the way the housing industry is right now?

- Several Trade Schools offer real estate courses, and almost all junior or community colleges offer real estate courses. Almost all of them end up with you getting a real estate sales license. With the pathetic condition of the real estate market, and the cut in pay for real estate sales persons, almost all sales personnel have changed jobs. Prudential recently cut all pay except straight commissions for sales personnel. That is why they are offering the course, they need people willing to work for less and no benefits. Until the market picks up, look for a job in another field. You can't live on commissions from no sales.
- You have valid concerns, however even though with the economy the way it is people are still buying houses, the commission just is not as grand as it was before all of this with the economy started. Having your real estate license could eventually come in handy. I live in Central California and you would be suprised about the housing market. There are so many investors purchasing these homes and renting them out, seeing that it is so many families in need of rental assistance through HUD/Section 8 and low income. The house we just rented last month was purchased in December and the owner's live down in Los Angeles some where, Any hoots follow your gut and stop looking at the right now in situations like this, you have to look at the big picture. Remember this the difference between a recession and a depression- a recession is when your neighbor loses his/her job and depression is when you lose your's. Good luck and God Bless!
- This is probably best time in 15 years to get into real estate. Think how many agents this downturn has weeded out. Real estate is tough because it is so easy to get a license. The market gets saturated with realtors competing with one another. So now that many realtors have quit this is a good time to get in and prepare for housing recovery. When housing begins to recover in 2010 or 2011 you will be in good shape.
