Shill bidding EBay how to stop and your views?

How do you detect that shill bidding as occurred? What are peoples views on this?

1. It has been harder to detect shill bidding ever since ebay introduced hidden bidders. If I suspect something is not right, check the buyers history & see what % of bids the buyer has on the sellers items. If it seems suss I dont bid & report to ebay for them to follow up. They can check the ip address & buyer/seller details. Of course it is wrong to bid on your own items or have family/friends to bid the price up but they are alot of desperate people out there, Im afraid its a case of buyer beware.
