Which online bidding website is best to buy products cheap, then make a profit by selling locally?

I really want to get started with buying products really cheap then selling on craigslist.com or locally. I just want to know which site would give me the best return on investment. I know there are websites that sell pretty much everything from electronics to jewelry. I have about $8,000 to work with, so I'd like to out bid people fairly quickly and work like that consistently. You should start by doing research on the various companies out there to determine what items they have to sell, their return policy in case the items are really junk (as I found on one company), and what people are buying in your local area. With money tight, people are opting to purchase more basics, and not the luxury items so be careful. Look through craigslist, amazon, and ebay to see what items are being purchased to get a feel for the market.
