Where is the best place to find discount/clearance furniture?

I'm looking for new furniture but want to find the best deal and don't want to pay an arm and a leg.

1. That depends on where you live. Most major metropolitan areas have independent or franchise furniture outlets that sell discount furniture. There are also consignment stores where people bring their furniture to a warehouse to be sold. The consignment store then takes a percentage of the sales price as a fee for selling it. I've also seen places that sell exclusively to hotels, resort condos, and developers for use in model homes. They usually blow that stuff out pretty cheap.
