What automotive drive belt brands are the best?

Looking to put new belts on my truck. Ive heard of Bando, Dayco, gatorback etc.... ITs For a 2000 Nissan Frontier Xe v6 3.3L 82,000 miles. I dont want cheap brands lookin for the good stuff and also where to get it.

  1. As a design engineer with a major automotive OEM, i would say without hesitation, Dayco is the best brand for your tensioner belt. Its very durable and should be available at any Autozone.
  2. I would also agree. OEM is best. I also have a Nissan (240sx) I go with OEM or JDM. OEM original equipment manufacturer. JDM Japanese Domestic Market I would go with the Dealership. Go to WestCovina Nissan www.thenismoshop.com Drive belts are cheap anyway, go with OEM or JDM.
  3. If you want a good brand without spending a ton of money, give some thought the Gates line of belts. In particular, the Gates Greenstripe XL series.
  4. But it from the dealer!!! American rubber, unfortunately, is not the best for longevity. OEM lasts longer and fits right every time!!!
