- that depends on your instructor / dojo / style / organization. there is no exect time table. generally 3 to 8 years a black belt means you have an understanding of the basics of techniques and you are ready to begin your training, nothing more then that
- that all depends on you!! it varies from person to person. if an instructor tells you for instance...you will get a new belt every 2 or 3 months, or that you'll be a black belt in 2-3 yrs...run for the door. martial arts is like anything else, you get out of it what you put into it. some progress faster than others because they work harder. and thats the way it should be. you don't want to apply yourself, why should you advance in rank? belt factories suck...find a good school that will taylor the program to you.
- If i say 10 years, will you still go for it? If you really want the black belt you wouldn't care even if it took 20 years. Let me guarantee you, once you start you'll forget all about how long it'll take.
- It will take you as long as it takes. If you do it in 3 years you trained a lot, and did very well. If it takes 7 years you are about average, and 10 years you have probably really earned it. Everyone progresses at their own pace. The belt is not even an issue, as long as your gi isn't unruly you don't even need one! Just train, the skills you develop are the only real reward. If you want a BB faster, just buy one like everybody else these days. J
- it does depend on what school your attending but for the most part it should take between 4 to 5 years. If you run into someone that says that they got it in three or less then i would say that there school is not very good. it took me seven years to get mine but i had a lot of time were i had to go other places. like Iraq twice and then i was coaching wrestling for two years. thanks
- if you're not very good, you many never get one, if you are able to learn things as they're taught to you, then no less than 3 years (unless you go to a mcdojo) why do you need to know?
- ok if i handed you a black belt will that make you able to kick my butt probaly no .. ib say pay them no mind as you need the care and expirience of learning not just the belt but the answer you seak is in you as it is 3-10000000 years and train from real dojo
- Jim R gave the best answer that you could get. He told it like it is. Excellent!
- It varies. It took me 15 Years.
- it all depends on how hard you are willing to work and sacrafice, nothing worth achiving comes easy.
- It takes however long it takes. Not eveyone learns at the same pace. U could learn at a McDojo and get a blackbelt in a couple years but u wont have the skills of students if legit schools. The belt doesnt mean anything if u dont have the skill its supposed to represent. Good luck
- few years
- How hard are you willing to work?? Will you just train in the dojo or will you work out on your own also??? Many factors come into play as to how long it takes to EARN a black belt. Having a black belt with out having the skills and knowledge that comes with years of practice, study and research would mean nothing. Seek knowledge and understanding of the style of karate you are studying.and work to improve your skill level by then you may be a black belt.
