What are the uses of costume / clothing in digital games? Example games?

e.g. In World of Warcraft, costumes are used for trading, decorating characters, guild tabards, ceremonies (e.g. funeral, wedding), fan arts, in-game auction house, cosplay, etc. ... What other games do you play and what uses of costumes/clothing have you noticed within the game and/or the gamer community? I believe there are more interesting phenomena about costume/clothing in current games than the dated yet renowned "Barbie Fashion Designer"...
