Belt Auction

Is it it legal when a past landlord removes a notice of auction of home from our door?

She is actually the fiance of our deceased landlord, she removed the notice and intentionally did not tell us of it.

  1. Maybe she inherited the house from him and cured any defaults. If so, she can provide proof and would then become your new landlord. In most cases the notice of sale is posted on the property when the lender gets no response at the borrower's last known mailing address. A deceased borrower would easily explain that, and probably why the mortgage was not paid as well. The owner or anyone acting on the owner's behalf, such as the executor of the estate, can legally remove the notice.
  2. Of course she can. She is also under no legal obligation to inform you of anything pertaining to the foreclosure.
