what is the best source web site in the U K to get caught up on the latest world news?

I'm not searching for the typical B S the U S media spews,"which one is the father","she doesn't wear underware","hes having sex with you know who",or ten thousands cockroaches found near the liberty bell".Our media is filled with nothing but fillers,(Bull Sh!*) to fill up space & rarely tells the truth or the whole story. The majority of the population where I live are fed up with this childish behavior that slants every news story they broadcast. The people who do this are suppose to be "educated" yet they spew at the mouth like auctioneers. They ask for opinions----- but they are only soliciting people who enjoy watching their halfway attempt of relaying the news. But we do have a freedom of the press in this country ( Larry Flyant said so)and I guess people can broadcast anything they like unless of course its some religious quotes from the scriptures that gave a clue that things like this will happen.----------Maybe that's why people are discouraged to study the scriptures??How did they know----from the media?

  1. www.bbc.co.uk/news
  2. The BBC has a good record and is widely respected. Here is their world news page.
  3. Always go for the BBC it's where I get all the facts for back home.
  4. Google news and choose which feeds you want.
  5. Duh, British Broadcasting Corporation (I didn't want to say BBC again, haha). For American sources of world news, the Financial Times (paper) and the Economist (magazine) are both great, actually.
  6. The BBC has an excellent reputation for unbiased reporting and it doesn't go in for sensationalism either. It also recognises, unlike most American sources of news, that there IS a world outside our own country! BBC America is also often available as a cable TV channel.
  7. I'm in the Uk and can CATEGORICALLY state that the bbc is very biased! Why do so people think they aren't? Wow! Do people no longer cross - reference and check the validity of the things the media tells them? Yes, the bbc may be a lot better at reporting news than many others, but they are still not allowed to report some things because of political pressure. Not to mention the political bias of those who run the company which often influences what they do end up reporting on. It's inevitable I suppose. Who here could honestly say they could have the power to run such an organisation without allowing their personal views to interfere, even in the slightest? Your best bet in my humble opinion, would be, as someone else mentioned, to search for online sources. Cross-referencing the news articles that are of importance to you with other online sources will give you an indication of the validity of them. Nowadays, the truth is harder to find. News for profit was never a good idea :(
