1. The only benefit of a commercial account anywhere is that you get a single bill at the end of the month for all the parts you have purchased. Unless there is a volume discount for either purchase volume or item volume there is no discount. The only time there is an economic advantage to using a commercial account is in the first two months of your business operation. Consider: the parts house is actually fronting you a month's worth of parts, and you have a second month in which to pay the first month's bill. That's a 60 day interest-free loan. I used to have commercial accounts with my suppliers but I still included a check whenever I made an order. That way I was always up to date on my account, and if they screwed up too much I could instantly take my business elsewhere. Try to stay out of debt. Debt is what has wrecked this country's economy.
2. I have commercial accounts at both places. I pay for my parts as I buy them. By having this account, I recieve a discount on the parts that I purchase. This, just like anywhere else that does car repairs, allows me to make a small percentage on any parts that I use. That is the advantage that I hace by having a commercial account.
