1997 Nissan Sentra won't start?
I have a 1997 Sentra that i have not started in over 2 months. It was driving good with no problems. I bought a new car and did not start it for couple months. Now i have a buyer for the car and it would not start. I took the battery to Discount Auto parts and charged the battery and it is good. When i start the car, engine cranks up but would not start. Actually it started once only to die within a second or two. I am thinking it is not getting the fuel. I am not handy person. I do not much about cars. I was been told by a friend, it must be bad gasoline or there is a fuel delivery issue. What should i do? How can i check if there is a fuel delivery issue. Also, i was told to tap the fuel tank while starting the engine. I looked under the rear wheel and could not distinguish which one is the tank.

- wel if cars been park a while good bet gas as gone bad but stil should crank spray a bit of starting fuild maybe might help get it running add a fuel treatment and only have one fuel tank in back cant miss that big as a suit case medal
- I agree with Kelly above. Give it a little help using starting fluid spray. Just a little at a time. Add a fuel additive of the sort used during winter. Heat - is one brand name. If it won't stay running on it's own without a snort of spray and the check engine light remains out (no problem codes needing to be read) then fuel is the likely issue because fuel problems like running out of gas and whatnot don't set codes.
- Try jump starting it, sometimes batteries go bad and test good. If it tests good, after you jump start you know its a battery problem! Also try cycling the key in the on position a few times, see if you car has a fuel reset button somewhere.
- could be a fuel pump. When cars sit and don't run for a period of time the pump fails and wont pump fuel anymore.
