how much would a new car motor be?

ok so.....i have a 2003 mazda protege.Sum how my car stated to run hot and made my motor go out!thats just makin that long story short!but how much would it be for a new motor?and are their any discount websites for auto parts and all that type of stuff!....i really need help! and i already got it checked out and everything

Probably is just your sensor that shut the engine preventing it from damaging. Get it checked first and then worry about buying an engine. A brand new one should be around 3000 a used one about 900 what cost money is the installation about 1200. GOOD LUCK.......
Your best bet would be a junk yard. Depending on the motor, you're looking at around $3000 for a new motor, but $1000 for a good used one, maybe cheaper.Good luck!
Probably more than the car is worth. I'd go to a used car lot and see how much you can get in trade value.

You must feel terrible. Anyway, you don't really need a new motor. You probably just blew the head gasket and warped the heads a little. A good technician can fix what you have for under $500. It will be good as new and run another 100,000 miles. NEVER use ANYTHING but genuine Mazda coolant in this car. It will save your radiator and other cooling system components from premature failure. There is NO such thing as a universal coolant! I would like to know the details on why this car engine over-heated! Make sure that your fan switch is replaced as a kind of insurance. Only Mazda parts, please!
