Is this a good quality .45 pistol?

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=141182988 I'm thinking about buying a pistol for target sport shooting, and I like the classic long barrel .45 design. Is this Para Ordnance a good gun? Telling from the pic, i'm not sure how much of the gun is plastic and how much is metal. I don't want something that feels cheap and light. Is the trigger made of plastic or metal and how big do you think the clip is? Thanks

  1. LOL jefferson Darcy hahahha I miss that show :-( What's the gun for? People hunting? Looks sexxi ;-)
  2. Never even heard of the brand. If you want a good pistol thats inexpensive get a Taurus or Kal-Tec.
  3. If you are looking for a good 1911 .45 you should look at Kimber and Colt. Colt is the original 1911, and Kimber sells more 1911s then any other company. I own a Kimber 1911 compact and shot my dads full size and hit dead-on with both, by far the most accurate gun you can buy for the money. If you have a couple grand to spend however I would recommend the Les Baer its one of the best 1911 you can get. As for Para idk that much about them, my old man who is a 1911 guru doesn't say much about them so they probably ain't nothing great. And from my quick readings I ain't impressed, they are not authentic 1911s because of their magazines and their cuts ain't that nice. If you are looking for a classic 1911 .45 Colt is your best bet, but price wise you cant beet Kimber for what you get. PS most 1911 hold 7 to 8 rounds.
  4. I checked out the link. Actually Para Ordnance is a fine, high end gun. I'm surprised some of these people have never heard of it. These are fine guns. I have actually wanted one for some time but have never wanted to shell out the money. This gun has an 8 round clip. And weighs a hefty 39 ounces. It MSRP's for around $600. But if you are JUST wanting to target shoot, this is not the gun for you. As you will also find that .45 ammo is scarce right now and pricey. But it's a very well built gun comparable to a Kimber.
  5. Paraordinances are fine guns. Some people have no clue. Wish I could buy one. Always want more. Your question would be better asked in the hunting section. Just an FYI
