Question about Ebay Automatic bidding?

Hi I am bidding on a laptop, and I had just put in my maximum bid of $150 However at the moment the auction is at : $112.50 and there is 2 days before the end of auction. Currently I am the highest bidder Now If no one bids on the item from now on, until the end of the auction, will the item sell for $112.50 ? Or will it sell for $150 ? What happens If someone bids on the item ? Thanks

  1. If noone else bids it'll be yours for $112.50 + shipping. If someone else bids which is most likely, ebay will automatically bid for you upto your max of $150. If they bid over that they will win it.
  2. if no one else bids, it will be yours for $112.50 + shipping. if someone else bids if they only bid $148 for their highest bid you will win. but someone could go past your $150 and you would have to bid again or find a different laptop.
  3. The item will only sell for as much as the next highest bidder bids. for instance you bid $150, it is only at $112 because that was the previous bidders high bid. so if no one else bids it will only cost you $112. just a bit of advice- when you bid on an item you should wait until the last second. I even use a time clock so that i can get my bid in perfect. the biggest reason for this is due to the fact that if you and another bidder both want an item then no matter what the other bidder is gonna try and outbid you so he is always gonna throw that last bid in. if the item is at 90 then the bidder might only bid 115. but if you already ran the price up to, say 112.50, then the bidder is gonna bid even more on top of that. good luck!!!!
  4. My answer is just to agree with everyone above.
  5. that's your highest bid, 150. the highest anyone else has bid is 112.50. yes, you can be outbid. but it's best to not get into bidding wars on ebay. you should check back AFTER the auction ends to see if you won the bid. don't get roped into bidding more then you think something is worth JUST to "win".
