How can I outsmart automatic bidding?

On Ebay, I am bidding on a lovely straightener that I've wanted FOREVER! But as soon as I bid, I was outbid! Curse you, automatic bidding. How can I outsmart this and get the straightener without breaking the bank? 30 MINUTES LEFT!!!

1. Look into getting yourself an automatic bidder.
2. just make your bid a bit larger (like by a penny or something) i dont think you cabn make the bid go away
3. You were outbid because the maximum bid of the current high bidder is higher than what you bid. If that person is willing to pay more than you, then there's really nothing you can do about it. All you can do is wait until the bidding is closer to closing and then put in the most that you're willing to pay and hope that you not only get the item, but that the other bidders aren't hanging on the end of the auction too and bidding up to the last minute. It's tricky, but I've gotten a couple of decent deals by just watching an auction and bidding in the last couple minutes, including my wife's laptop
