Do you get discount for an airline ticket for a death in the family?

I know I have heard that it is possible but I do not know how to go about it???

1. usually you have to call the airline and ask to speak to a supervisor then airline will need a copy of the death cerificate or the body lots times all you get is a discount offf full fare price
2. Bereavement fares are usually no discount over what you can find online.
3. Most airlines offer bereavement fares, but they are discounted from the full fare. You can often find better deals even through the airline website, and also other travel sites. It's worth calling the airline to see, but you'll probably find a better deal yourself.
4. call the airlines customer service dept. tell your story, they will direct you, good inof given above here, not much of a discount but better then nothing for a last minute booking
