eBay Auction?
what are the main areas that must be covered when selling an item on ebay? are there any ways to lower the amount of fees you must pay at the end of auction?(i.e., $25 instead of $24.99 / free shipping compared to flat rate) things like that?

- I never sell an item as free postage as you do not pay paypal fees on postage so save a few pence on fees, I avoid auctions unless I feel that some muppet may pay silly money for an item if I have several of the same item or a reliable supply I do a buy it now lately I have used the best offer facility as trade is quite slow to do an auction and buy it now adds to the fees but to allow a best offer costs no extra you can also automatically refuse time wasting offers which are common eg to offer half price or less. Trade is quite slow at the minute on ebay this and next week are going to be ok but be carefull when you list there are monthly peaks due to pay dates etc.
- HOLD UP...the guy above informed you wrong....YOU DO pay paypal fees on postage.... you DONT pay ebay fees on postage. Thats why u see many seller selling their item for $1.00, but their shipping fee is $15..... of course this is againts ebay rules, but most get away with it.....like me.... : )
- Incase you aren't aware, the reasons things are slow this week is because new fees and policies have recently gone into effect. Many of the policies are unfair and the fees are very high. Both buyers and sellers are boycotting this week and an ongoing strike is being called for. This isn't a good time to start selling on ebay. Many sellers are moving to new sites where the the fees are much lower and they are being treated much better. Buyers wll follow honest sellers.
