ok so i try bidding on something and right away im out bidded the other person has a automatic bidding thing WTF? what do i do????????????????

put in a decent higher number
put in a higher bid you have to bid at least a few dollars more than what has been bid some people put in there highest bid and let the auto bid do the work.
The other person put in a maximum bid. Basically if they only want to pay $150 for something that is currently $85 they can put that bid in it and it will only bring it to $87 but if you bid $100 then you will be outbid and the new price will be $102.
Laura's answer is correct. Someone else has put in a maximum bid, and ebay just automatically increases the bid against yours. Once you overcome the other bidder's maximum bid amount, you will be the highest bidder and not until then. The other person doesn't have an automatic bidder, ebay IS the automatic bidder in this case.
