Cheap airline ticket from london heathrow to delhi on christmas?
Hi, I hope anyone can advice some useful information regarding airline fares. I was thinking for travelling from london heahtrow to delhi during christmas : dep on 22 dec 2009 and return on 17 jan. I am looking for a direct flight. But i cant seem to find any good fares for any airlines. All the fares are around 800 pounds which is one and a half time the normal time fares. Do anyone have any idea about the airline prizing or the discount, the way airline does? , and as the travel date comes near , are the fares are likely to go up or they can go down as well ?. Any information will be very useful

- Most people want to go home to family at Christmas and so travelling around the 22nd of December is about the most expensive time of the year to travel. It is the basic economic principle of "supply and demand". The more people that want to travel, the higher the fares are going to be. The fares will go up as seats become limited and people will pay anything for them to get home for Christmas. www.expedia.co.uk might have a cheap deal where you have to change somewhere. I had a quick look and they have one with a connection in Bahrain for £674 but a direct flight is going to cost just under £800 return. If you really want to travel, I suggest you bite the bullet and book it now before the prices go up again.
- Your best bet is to book your flights now, because they are not going to get any cheaper. Christmas is peak season for airline travel, so flights are most expensive at this time of year. I work with a few Indians who are going home this Christmas and they usually book their flights with Southall Travel. It might be worth giving them a shot. It is possible you will not be able to get a direct flight because availability is limited.
- i agree with 1st answer, fares wont get cheaper they'l get more expensive the more u wait, so you'd be better off booking now

Please confirm the terminal with the airline before leaving for the airport. Total price for this trip: £641.28 Non-stop flights are expensive than layover flights. These are due to difference in the price charged for fuel, airport taxes, parking charges etc. If you want to look for cheap tickets don't take this option. If you want to reach as early as possible, non-stop flights are the best option. But its with a hitch, prices are very high. Have a Nice flight !!! Have A Safe journey!!
