1. You could search for job postings from companies on sites outside of the online bidding portals. For example, I did a search on "how to find information technology projects" and found a posting on CareerBuilder.com for an "Information Technology Project Manager". I also found another site called Indeed.com that seems to have postings for IT-related jobs. Another idea is to check the online classifieds (Craigslist, etc.) to see if any companies are hiring. Of course, there is also the old fashioned word-of-mouth technique; if you have any social connections with people in your area who are looking for people to work on IT projects, you can always follow up on this.
